Staff Additions and Promotions Help GALLINA LLP Prepare for 2008 Growth

In preparation for the firm’s planned expansion of accounting, auditing, tax and business consulting services in the Pacific region, GALLINA LLP promotes staff at all levels, admits two managers to partner, and hires an additional experienced senior tax manager.

GALLINA LLP has a reputation for cultivating its staff; and in January, many individuals within the firm were promoted up through the ranks of Staff 1, Staff 2, Senior, Supervisor, Manager, and Senior Manager level positions.  The firm’s extensive personalized training and mentoring programs allow staff members to fast track their careers commensurate to their technical abilities and personal desire to excel.  GALLINA promoted numerous individuals as a result of their individual achievements and the firm’s increasing need for additional staffing to support its growing client base.

Additionally, Crystal Ekanayake, CPA and Elba Zuniga, CPA were admitted into GALLINA’s growing twenty-one member partner group. Crystal has been a member of the GALLINA team since November of 2002 and works in the firm’s Sacramento office.  She specializes in tax and assurance services and works with clients in multifamily housing, real estate, and construction.  She is also an employee benefit plan auditing specialist and is responsible for the ongoing development of the Sacramento office’s Internship Program.  In addition to her reputation for excellence in providing skilled expertise to GALLINA’s clients, Crystal is also well respected in academia and is a part-time college instructor at California State University Sacramento where she has taught since 1997.

Elba has been a member of the firm since August of 1994 and works in the Roseville office.  She specializes in auditing for governmental entities such as counties, cities, and special districts.  Before joining GALLINA, Elba worked in San Mateo County as a Municipal Court Clerk and was a contract administrator for a regional planning agency.  Her well-rounded expertise in all facets of governmental accounting - as both a government employee and a certified public accounting auditor has been in great demand due to the fact that GALLINA LLP has audited thirty-eight (38) of California’s fifty-eight (58) counties and is a growing niche practice within the firm.

A notable addition to GALLINA’s professional staff is Reed Matthews, CPA.  Reed was hired as a Senior Tax Manager in the firm’s Roseville office. He has spent the past eleven years working with Big Four accounting firms where he has obtained valuable experience working with many types of businesses and individuals on a multitude of federal and state taxation issues.  Reed has worked in various industries - including agriculture, retail, banking, manufacturing, and construction. His vast experience providing federal and multi-state tax expertise to individuals, family-owned businesses, partnerships, and S-corporations will prove invaluable to the GALLINA team and the clients he serves. ###
