Bill has been with GALLINA’s Bay Area practice since 1978, making him that region’s longest-tenured employee. He has been in the financial field for more than three decades. “I started my career as an auditor with a national firm, but found I preferred the breadth of services offered by local and smaller regional firms,” he says.
Frequently consulting on succession planning issues, Bill makes timely service and top quality his two highest priorities as he assists his clients. Bill’s thorough understanding of how financial decisions can impact tax burdens, allows him to evaluate every transaction with an eye on the overall financial picture.
Within the firm, Bill says, “I believe in creating a work environment where everyone has the tools necessary to succeed…” “I encourage our people to use their judgment and abilities to achieve positive results. I have learned that maintaining a highly professional, but relaxed, office atmosphere greatly contributes to our staff’s ability to see beyond the obvious and bring value added ideas and suggestions to our clients.”
Not surprisingly, Bill is an excellent trainer. Before entering public accounting, he was an elementary school teacher and has since taught the Construction Management Program at California State University Hayward. He also organized both the Associated Builders and Contractor’s (ABC) Bookkeeping Seminar and the Construction Financial Management Association’s (CFMA) Construction Accounting Workshops.
A graduate of the University of Notre Dame, Bill has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and an MBA in Accounting. He has written articles for .The Journal of Construction Accounting and Taxation and was a member of its board of advisors.
Bill frequently commutes to GALLINA’s Walnut Creek office by bicycle, logging between 3,000 and 4,000 miles a year. He and his wife, Maureen, have two grown children and live in Lafayette. They have been married more than 30 years — almost as long as Bill’s tenure at GALLINA! |
