Mark has been a tax professional since 1989. Prior to joining GALLINA LLP in 2006, Mark worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in its San Diego and Sacramento offices.
Mark has many years of experience serving clients in numerous industries. “My client base has included small to large-sized companies, both public and private, national and international, and organized in a myriad of ways, including corporations, Limited Liability Companies, Partnerships, and disregarded entities including Single Member Limited Liability Companies, Tenants in Common, and Lessees in Common, as well as individuals and trusts” he says. “I have enjoyed working with businesses and their owners, particularly when we have turned their business challenges into opportunities. I have especially enjoyed seeing my clients grow and prosper. This experience has allowed me to bring a wide range of practical solutions to GALLINA LLP’s clients.”
Mark has worked with clients in a variety of industries, including real estate, construction, agriculture, retail, manufacturing and distribution, service, investment, and not-for-profit. Together with serving his clients in the compliance function at the federal, state, and international levels, Mark has also served as a consultant on numerous transactions, including entity choice and formation, structuring, buy-sell agreements, and mergers & acquisitions work.
Mark’s relevant client experience includes work done with Panattoni Development Company and related entities, Spanos Park Development Company and related entities, FPI Real Estate Group and related entities, Pacific Coast Building Products and related entities, Juniper Residential Fund-I, Sacramento Housing Opportunity Fund, the Anderson family and related entities, Richter Ag and related entities, PASCO scientific, and Product Development Corporation.
Mark holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a Master’s of Science degree in taxation from San Diego State University.
In addition to instructing both in-house courses and outside courses, most recently at the Association of General Contractors/ Construction Financial Management Association annual conference, Mark also is a contributing author to the Thompson Reuters’ publications “PPC Guide to Construction Contractor Taxation” and "PPC Guide to Construction Contractors."
Along with his professional activities, Mark currently serves on the Board of Directors of the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation and on the Finance Committee of the Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization, and has served on the Board of Directors of Diogenes Youth Services and as a soccer coach for his daughters.
On the personal side, Mark and his wife have three daughters, ranging in age from 9 to 18 years of age, and they enjoy an assortment of family and sporting activities.
